ProStart® Teams Head to Springfield for ProStart State Competition on February 16 Your MRA Dues Investment at Work
After months of preparation, and full of hope, a record number of ProStart teams will travel to Springfield for the 17th Annual State ProStart Competition in Springfield on February 16. The students will demonstrate their mastery of restaurant leadership skills — culinary and management — in a fast-paced competition to win their share of scholarship opportunities and the honor of representing Missouri at the National ProStart Invitational in Providence, RI.
Missouri has one of the best and largest ProStart programs in the nation, and our teams have fared well at the national competition. Herndon Career Center, a career and technical high school in Raytown, is a previous winner of the national culinary competition. Mark Twain High School in Center, Mo (population 508) twice placed in the top five in the national management competition. In 2017, the team from Parkway North High School in St. Louis County took 4th place in management at the national competition held in Charleston, SC.
