Organization Overview

Through economic shifts and rising costs of higher education, STLCC has remained a steadfast source of opportunity. That’s our promise to you.

STLCC has served over 1.3 million students, with more than 50% of St. Louis area households represented in our student body. Since 1962, we’ve believed in the transformative power of education—lifting up individuals, communities and our city.

Research highlights that every $1 invested in STLCC yields $4.70 in future income for students and $2.80 in added tax revenue for taxpayers. The college’s annual economic impact on the region is $2.5 billion, supporting over 32,000 jobs.

STLCC offers affordable education, costing 1/3 of other institutions, saving over $4,700 annually. With an associate degree, you can earn $10,600 more per year than with a high school diploma. Through the Core 42 program, STLCC helps more students transfer to four-year Missouri public institutions than any other community college in the state. We offer stackable credentials for career advancement and hundreds of online courses. With a 22:1 student-teacher ratio and various learning modalities, STLCC provides personalized education.

Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1966, STLCC continues to meet high standards in education, services, and faculty. The College underwent its latest accreditation review in 2018, securing approval through 2028, ensuring that students receive quality education for their future success.
