In 2016, the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association celebrates 100 years of working for restaurants in our community. What started in 1916 as a meeting of three Kansas City restaurant leaders to discuss the rising price of eggs, eventually grew into what is now the GKCRA and National Restaurant Association.
In the spirit of those pioneering restaurateurs, the GKCRA celebrates 100 years of restaurants working together to foster a community for restaurants to thrive. Throughout 2016, the GKCRA is holding events and celebrations marking the association’s past and carrying it into the future.
The GKCRA needs the help of members and the community through sponsorship, research and time to ensure the success of 2016’s centennial celebrations. If you are interested in sponsoring an event, sharing a story or donating your time to researching Kansas City’s restaurant history, please visit GKCRA100.com or contact Bill Teel at bteel@morestaurants.org or 816-753-5222.
